History & Patient Information
When you see our fertility doctor, we will ask you questions to get a better understanding of your personal situation. We will ask questions about how long you have been trying to conceive, your medical history, and more. These questions are designed to uncover a potential cause of infertility. There is nothing wrong with struggling to conceive, and these questions are not designed to make you feel ashamed or embarrassed. Our staff wants to uncover the best possible way to help you achieve your goals!
There are three usual causes for infertility, and we evaluate each one:
- Ovaries – Many women do not produce eggs or ovulate on a regular basis, impacting their ability to get pregnant. It is also possible that age is hindering or depleting the eggs in the ovaries.
- Fallopian Tubes – Sometimes, the Fallopian tubes can become blocked, which prevents sperm from fertilizing the ovulated eggs.
- Semen – A very common cause of infertility is insufficient numbers of normal sperm to achieve a pregnancy.
At your first appointment, we will discuss how we will go about evaluating these potential sources. If you have questions, our Boca Raton fertility doctor will take the time to answer them and provide further advice and insight.
