Understanding Oocyte Freezing

Oocyte freezing, also known as egg freezing or fertility preservation, is a process where a woman's eggs (oocytes) are extracted, frozen, and stored for later use. This allows women to preserve their fertility at a younger age when egg quality is typically higher.

With advanced vitrification (flash-freezing) technology, frozen eggs have excellent survival rates when thawed. When you're ready to use your eggs, they can be thawed, fertilized with sperm through IVF, and transferred to your uterus.

1. Initial Consultation & Testing
We'll review your medical history and perform fertility testing (AMH, FSH, antral follicle count) to assess your ovarian reserve and determine the optimal treatment plan.

2. Ovarian Stimulation
You'll take hormone injections for 8-14 days to stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple eggs. We'll monitor your progress with ultrasounds and blood tests.

3. Egg Retrieval
When eggs are mature, they're retrieved through a minor outpatient procedure performed under light sedation. The 20-30 minute procedure is done in our office.

4. Vitrification (Flash Freezing)
Mature eggs are immediately frozen using advanced vitrification technology, which prevents ice crystal formation and ensures excellent survival rates when thawed.

5. Storage
Your frozen eggs are safely stored in our secure cryostorage facility for as long as you need. They can remain frozen indefinitely without quality deterioration.
