Cervical Cancer and Fertility

As stated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the best way to detect and prevent cervical cancer is through regular gynecological screenings. If you’ve been diagnosed with cervical cancer and you’re worried about infertility risk, Palm Beach Fertility Center is here to help you understand your options.

Certain cancer treatments can affect fertility, such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and hormone therapy. That’s why we recommend fertility preservation to those with a recent cancer diagnosis, impending need for chemo/radiation, positive BRCA test, or an uncertain reproductive future in general. Our vitrification egg freezing services allow for the preservation of unfertilized eggs to help give those with cervical cancer and other fertility-affecting conditions the option for future family building.

We’re also proud to say that Palm Beach Fertility Center is a Livestrong Fertility Program partner, meaning we offer discounted services to cancer survivors.

Preserving and Improving Your Fertility

With proactive fertility preservation, you can quite literally “freeze time” to stop your biological clock from ticking. We offer both male and female preservation services, meaning both eggs and sperm can be frozen for the possibility of future conception.

Special fertility tests such as ovarian reserve testing can also help a woman gain a better idea of her realistic chances of conceiving. Decreased ovarian reserve can be caused by several conditions, including:

  • Cancer/cancer treatment
  • Pelvic surgery
  • Pelvic infections
  • Endometriosis
  • Tubal disease
  • Hyperactive immune system
  • Autoimmune disease

In addition to our egg freezing services, we also have options for family building through donor eggs, in the chance that conception viability is not present during ovarian reserve testing. We also offer various other fertility treatment options for those struggling with cervical health conditions and wanting to conceive. Our team can help you understand which options will be best for your specific needs and family growth goals.

You’re Not Alone – and Options are Available

The American Association for Cancer Research estimates that approximately 14,100 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year. While this number is certainly staggering, our team at Palm Beach Fertility Center wants you to know that you’re not alone – and we’re here to help however we can. We’ll be by your side during every step of your fertility journey, and we can provide any necessary support or resources based on your physical and mental needs.

If you’re living with a cervical condition and are still hoping to conceive, give us a call at (888) 819-5177 today to begin learning about your options. We’re here to help you grow your family, despite the struggles you’re facing.
