Donor Services in Florida

Information About Egg & Sperm Donation and Gestational Carriers

Your path to parenthood may include donor services, such as egg/sperm donation, or a gestational carrier (also known as a “gestational surrogate”). Patients may opt for donor services for a variety of reasons, often because they have limited ability to conceive on their own. At Palm Beach Fertility Center, we can help.

Donor services are wonderful because they help many infertile couples, single women, and LGBTQ couples build families. Donor services may be the answer you’re searching for to build your family if you are unable to conceive because of infertility, or you want to avoid passing an inheritable genetic disorder to a biological child.

We provide the following donor services at PBFC:

  • Egg donation: Patients who conceive through egg donation typically have struggled with infertility for a long time. Female infertility may be caused by diminished ovarian reserve, premature ovarian failure, premature menopause, poor quality eggs, or other factors. Egg donors are carefully screened so you can make the best choice of which donor will provide the genetic material of your baby. Egg recipients may choose from fresh or frozen eggs, depending on which option suits you best.
  • Sperm donation: Hopeful patients can realize their dreams of parenthood through selecting a carefully screened sperm donor. This is a good option for couples in which the male partner experiences infertility from a low sperm count or low sperm motility. It is also an excellent option for single women or lesbian couples who want to conceive via intrauterine insemination (IUI).
  • Gestational carriers: Surrogacy may be an option for you if you are a woman who cannot carry your own child for any number of reasons. It is also a method many same-sex male couples choose to become fathers. The arrangement for surrogacy involves a female patient who will carry and deliver your baby to term. The eggs will not be from the gestational carrier as they come from an egg donor. Fertilized eggs are implanted in the carrier’s uterus via in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
